Is the orthodontic consultation complimentary?

Yes. Your initial orthodontic consultation at Miso is complimentary. We will discuss your concerns, review our findings, and explain recommendations and next steps.

How long does the consultation take?

Please allow approximately one hour. Completing your forms beforehand helps us use that time for your assessment and questions.

What happens during my consultation?

We begin by discussing your goals, then gather photographs and a low-dose 3D CBCT scan. In a private consultation, we review your findings and treatment options, followed by a discussion of fees, payment arrangements, and insurance benefits.

How much does orthodontic treatment cost at Miso?

Our approximate treatment fee ranges are:

Approximate treatment fee ranges
Treatment categoryApproximate fee range
Phase I / early treatment$3,500–$4,500+
Limited orthodontic treatment$5,000–$6,500+
Comprehensive orthodontic treatment$6,500–$8,500+

Fees vary with case complexity, treatment goals, and the specific appliances or treatment methods used. Some cases fall above these ranges. We will review your personalized fee and any applicable insurance benefits at your consultation.

What is the difference between Phase I, limited, and comprehensive treatment?

Phase I treatment addresses a specific developing concern in a child who still has some baby teeth. Additional treatment may be needed later.

Limited treatment focuses on defined orthodontic goals rather than correcting every aspect of alignment and the bite. It is suitable only when the proposed scope is appropriate for your dental health and expectations.

Comprehensive treatment addresses the overall alignment and bite within the agreed treatment plan.

These categories describe the scope of care. We will explain which approach fits your diagnosis and goals.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible financing and payment options to help make treatment manageable. We will work with you to explore an arrangement that fits your needs.

Which dental insurance plans do you participate with?

We participate with major PPO networks, including Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Concordia, Delta Dental, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Send us your insurance information before your visit so we can review your specific plan and orthodontic benefits.

Does dental insurance cover braces or clear aligners?

Some dental plans include orthodontic coverage, while others do not. Benefits and eligibility vary by plan. We will help you understand your available coverage and estimated out-of-pocket cost.

When should I submit insurance information?

Please submit complete insurance details 48–72 hours before your consultation. This gives our team time to request benefit information so we can discuss it with you. If the insurer has not completed verification, we may need to follow up after your visit.

Can I schedule if I do not have orthodontic insurance?

Yes. You are welcome to schedule a complimentary consultation without orthodontic insurance. We can review treatment fees and available payment options with you.

Can I start treatment on the same day?

Yes. We offer same-day starts. The exact first step depends on your treatment plan. Appliances that are made specifically for you, such as clear aligners, may require additional time to fabricate before you receive them.

Will I receive a CBCT scan?

Yes. We take a low-dose CBCT scan for every new patient as part of our consultation records. This three-dimensional image helps us assess the teeth, jaws, and surrounding bony structures in greater spatial detail than conventional two-dimensional X-rays.9

Why do you ask about snoring or mouth breathing?

Breathing and sleep history are part of our broader assessment. Your answers may identify concerns that should be discussed with a physician. Sleep apnea requires a medical assessment and may require a sleep study; questionnaires and images alone do not establish the diagnosis.8

What if treatment is not needed right now?

We will explain our findings and whether follow-up is appropriate. For growing children, the next step may be monitoring development and reassessing at a later stage.

How do I schedule an appointment?
